Greatest GB Song Challenge

To me, the greatest challenge on making a song in garage band is making the singers voice sound great like real singers. I tried singing my song, but my voice didn't cut it. So I asked a friend who has musical talents with her voice if she could do it. It's hard to find the right pitch and sound that will make the her voice sound loud and clear. I've had to change some parts of the vocals to have it not sound screechy and loud in some high notes that are in the song. Making the beats and sounds were an easy task, but I would say getting the vocals just right, was the hardest.

How I Can Use Garage Band Later

I can use Garage Band later on in life when I hear a song that I think would sound better with a different beat. I can edit, change, or better a song or even create my own song. I can use Garage Band even if I enter a contest, like the Shamaley Chime and Rhyme Contest here in El Paso where you make a jingle including Shamaley plus the word(s) Ford, Buick, or GMC. Making a good enough jingle could get you some money. And who knows, Garage Band can even start someone off as a rapper or singer.

What Would I Like To Listen To:

If there was anything in the world that I would want to listen to, it would be the voices of my family, especially my nephew. I love to hear him say he loves me or even hates me. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't hear his voice anymore. Or not even hear my mother tell me she loves me. But the plus for it would be I wouldn't have to hear her nag me. But I'd probably miss hearing it. I want to be able to hear my own child cry or say "mama". That's something I'd never want to miss out on. I think I'd be okay with just listening to my families voices because that's better than any music. If I want music, my family can sing to me, my nephew can sing to me, or my own children can even sing to me. I wouldn't want to miss those voices.

What Defines Me!

I'm the type of person who loves the night. Anything having to do with the rain, the moon, and darkness. I love to sketch as well, so the basic colors of my image are black in white, just like my sketchings.

New Seating Arrangements

Get: From this new seating chart I will get a new group to work with which will help me learn how to work with various types of people/groups. I will also not be relying on my previous group to help me get the right answer. Now, I will have to be sure of myself and make sure I get the right answer.

Give: I will be able to give my group the skills I was providing my previous group with. Such as, helping my group members, staying on task, finishing my work, and being able to help my group members find the correct answer to their question.

Shapes

For this assignment I used union, punch, crop, and intersect. Union was used for the squares in the top left corner. I made three equal squares and with the union button, I merged them together. Punch was used for the rectangle in the bottom left corner. I made a rectangle and a circle, and with the punch button, I punched the piece of the circle that was overlapping into the rectangle, into the rectangle. Intersect was used in the upper right corner. I made three circles which overlapped each other and when I selected the intersect button, the only evidence left of the circles was the middle of all three. Crop was used in the bottom center image. I made a star and put a circle in the center of it. After selecting the crop button, the two images merged into the image at the bottom/center of the picture.

Pastries

To create this image in fireworks I used many different tools. I used Layers to help myself work with the different layers of images in the picture such as the picture and text. I used the Stroke Color to change the color of the doughnut. The fill color was used to fill in the color in the words "Existential Pastries". The Ruler was used to help me find the exact point on the canvas of where to begin my ellipse. The X and Y was the position of the object which we drew on the canvas. The W and H are the width and the height of the object. I used the EditAlighn to center all my objects in the image. The combine paths was when I created the doughnut. I used the Undo button whenever I made a mistake that I needed to fix. The Group tool was used to combine the column with its top. Gradient was used to give a texture to the doughnut. Edge was used to create a feather look to the text. Texture helped me create a different feel to the doughnut. The transform tool was used to rotate the doughnut ninety degrees counter clockwise. Filters was used to create a different color tone to the doughnut. Distance was used to show how far out the shadow casted on the text or doughnut. The text tool helped me write in "the cake is commentary". The styles panel gave me the style of writing for my text. The new style tool allowed me to create a new style for my text because there was a specific style I needed.

It's Raining Cats, No Dogs

The tools I used to make this picture were the magic wand, the marquee tool, and the eraser, all of which I used in the program Fireworks. Each tool i used to edit a picture of two kittens fighting. I erased the background and just left the kitten. The kitten is on a different background of a sky. I made a copy of the same kitten and rotated both into a falling position. My end result, was this picture.

Website Validity

Google
http://www.google.com/

Owner of Domain: Google Inc.

Google is neither a paid ad or infomercial, but a search engine.

There is no information, thus no author.

There is no author to write the pages, plus Google is a search engine.

There is no expert, because there is no author.

The purpose of this site is being a search engine for the use of those who need it.

The overall site does not reflect a bias because it's a search engine.

Google was created in 1997.

Google was last updated September 7, 2010.

The information on Google comes from different websites that you can locate by searching for them on Google.

The information is always useful for my assignment because I can always find what I'm looking for.

What Have You Learned Today About Copyright?

Today I learned about copyright that which pertains to Brian and Sarah. I learned that Sarah can register her poem and then file a lawsuit for infringement. She would be able to have a case against him and maybe receive royalties for the song that was made with her poem as lyrics. Sarah may even win full custody of the song as her own. I also learned that Sarah had her own copyright of the poem already. As soon as she wrote it in that journal of hers, she had a copyright of it.

You Stole My Heart And Song

1. Is Brian right?
I believe Brian is right and wrong. He is legally correct when it comes down to whose song it is. But in reality, Sarah did write that song and it belongs to her. Sarah should get at least a percentage of the profit that the song has made.

2. What should Sarah do?
Sarah can't do anything about Brian actually stealing her song. The best thing she can do is copyright her poems that she still possesses, and see if she can make one of them a hit song just as "Love Alive" was.

Meaning of DIM

Digital reminds me of a digital picture. I believe it has to do with mega pixels and using technology.
Intereractive has to do with working with more than one of something. In this class we will interact with digital and multimedia.
Multimedia reminds me of movies, pictures, and videos. So it has to do with making some sort of those three that I listed.
